The mascot for Wix.com

Creating a mascot to bring Wix’s brand to life

The company had a 2D mascot that we called “Musa.” It was used in a very basic way across the company and had many limitations due to its format. When I saw its potential, I took on the challenge of “bringing it to life.” The transition from 2D to 3D was very challenging. I had to figure out on my own how to adjust its proportions so we could work with it while keeping it recognizable - including elements like fingers, stretching hands, and changing proportions to give it an “elastic” ability to create the poses I wanted. The idea was to build a character that would be as flexible as possible to use and would convey a message people could connect with. I wanted to create an internal story for it so it would feel real and relatable. I built a personal story around the character - where it came from, what it likes to do, and how it behaves in different situations. I explored different poses, adjusted the proportions of the hands and body, and redefined its facial features. All of this gave me the flexibility to work with it across different use cases.

The process for the creation

The work began with a spontaneous illustration of a logo, which quickly evolved into a visual asset adopted by the entire marketing team. It was used across a wide range of touchpoints - including advertisements, landing pages, emails, and banners - and scaled to hundreds of assets, eventually becoming part of materials presented during the company’s Nasdaq IPO.

From a Static Logo to a Living Character

This project demonstrates how a simple idea can evolve into a scalable brand asset - connecting creativity, storytelling, and real business impact.
